The Glaser-Hilpert family had a clear idea of their dream house – it should be classically timeless, a modern hipped roof villa. They took their time when planning the house, interior design and garden and this is obvious from the results.
Pierre Glaser and Gabi Hilpert like spending time outdoors. That’s why, when planning the house, they wanted two easily-accessible terraces – one that gets the morning sun and one for the evening.
The house contains clear forms, smooth surfaces and eye-catching features here and there, such as the bright yellow USM design cabinet in the lobby. A fireplace in the large living-dining area acts as a hearth as well as a room divider, with the advantage that the fascinating flickering of the flames can be seen from both the sofa and the dining table. The kitchen is an example of the excellent ground floor plan and design layout of this hipped roof villa. A kitchen island with breakfast bar divides the workspace and dining areas. Since the kitchen is clearly visible from the dining area, they dispensed with wall units above the work surfaces. All fronts are closed and a built-in cabinet creates lots of space for storage. White kitchen cabinets and black work surfaces give the area clear vertical and horizontal surfaces, making the kitchen appear calm and tidy. The first floor of the villa also offers lots of space for individual living with a generous bedroom, adjoining dressing room and luxurious bathroom. A guest room, study and fitness room complete the available space.
